Message from Department Head, Warakorn Charoensuk

It is my pleasure to share exciting aspects of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University. Our Department offers Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degree in Biomedical Engineering which are among the top education programs in Southeast Asia. We have a long history since 1998 when our department has offered the Master Degree Program in Biomedical Engineering. We are the first Biomedical Engineering Department in Thailand and we offered Thailand’s first BME undergraduate program. Undergraduate students accepted in the program are the top engineering students in the country.

Our faculty is committed to the make all Biomedical Engineering programs to reach the world-class level. We have established strong collaborations with world-renounced university across the world including collaborative research project, short student project, student/faculty exchanges and internship. Among many interactions across Mahidol University, we work closely with the School of Medicine and University Hospitals such as Siriraj and Ramathibodi Hospital. From the collaboration with the colleges, we target the following research areas with the aim to generate knowledge, technology and innovation: Biosignal and Image Processing, Tissue Engineering and Drug Delivery System, Advanced Computing in Medicine, Rehabilitation Engineering and Artificial Organs, Robotics and Computer-Integrated Surgery, and Biosensors and Medical Instrumentation. In addition to the education in the classroom, all of our students will learn and practice through a number of our laboratories.
