During 24–25 April 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Soontorn Tantithavornwat participated in the STS forum Japan–Thailand Symposium 2026 held at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld, Bangkok, Thailand.

The symposium served as an important international platform bringing together researchers, policymakers, industry representatives, and leaders in science and technology from various countries to exchange knowledge and perspectives on future technologies under the theme “The Great Convergence: AI-Driven Health, Environment and Bio-Economy.” The discussions highlighted the role of AI and intelligent systems in advancing healthcare, environmental sustainability, and the bio-economy of the future.

On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Soontorn Tantithavornwat was invited to serve as both a speaker and a rapporteur, presenting research concepts on AI-driven sensing and intelligent microfabricated systems for medical and environmental applications.

In addition, he participated in discussions on AI governance, digital sovereignty, sustainable technology, and international academic collaboration with researchers and institutions from Japan and other countries. His participation reflects Mahidol University’s commitment to advancing research in chemical engineering, biomedical technology, and policy innovation, while connecting frontier research with national and global challenges.
