Nanocomposite Engineering Research Unit (NanoCEN)

The NanoCEN lab (Figure 7.11), located at Room CH107, is specialized in design and synthesize composite materials of metal oxide nanoparticles and carbon nanostructures, such as carbon nanotubes and graphene. The composites can be served as efficient catalyst for a wide spectrum of applications, such as water treatment, fuel cell, lithium battery and chemical sensors. NanoCEN focuses their research works in supporting current and future technologies in industrial sector, beginning research works with the end in mind. Flagship products that have currently been developed include fermented ethanol vapor sensor, plasma sodium sensor, and photocatalytic CO2 convertor for liquid fuel production.
