May 6, 2025: representatives of the Faculty of Engineering Mahidol University met H.E. Nhar Heng, Director General of the National Construction Laboratory, Cambodia and other representatives from the National Construction Laboratory at the Innogineer Studio, 1st Floor, Building 3, Faculty of Engineering.
Assistant Professor Dr. Pattaraporn Posoknistakul, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, Assistant Professor Dr. Wasaporn Techapeeraparnich, Acting as Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Pattharaphon Chindasiriphan, Assistant Dean for Infrastructure and Environmental Development and lecturers from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, welcomed the visitors from Cambodia. During their visit they participated in a study tour of the Faculty of Engineering. The purpose of the visit was to exchange knowledge on construction product standards.
The event was honored by Assistant Professor Dr. Pattaraporn Posoknistakul who welcomed the delegation from the National Construction Laboratory, Cambodia. There was a special lecture on the topic of “The process of developing construction product standards in Thailand, Exchange knowledge on the details of Thai construction products used in Cambodia”, by Ms. Krissana Petchcharoen, a Specialist Standards Scholar, Standardization Division, Standardization Group 1, Industrial Product Standards Office from Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI).
The delegation from the National Construction Laboratory, Cambodia, visited the construction materials testing laboratory of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering where they observed the testing and research processes of construction materials that is carried out there to international standards.
This reflects the readiness of the Faculty of Engineering to support research and development of engineering technology. This study visit is another important step in promoting cooperation in engineering and the development of construction materials standards between Thailand and Cambodia.
