On May 14–16, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, represented by the Engineering for Social Responsibility Unit, in collaboration with the Panyapat Foundation for the Disabled, organized activities to transfer knowledge and enhance the potential of independent careers for families of people with disabilities. The event was under the Achiwapat project, “Vocational Development for Sustainable and Holistic Promotion of Independent Careers for Families of People with Disabilities” and was held at the Vibhavadi Room, 4th floor, Princeton Park Suites Hotel (Din Daeng), Bangkok. The objective is to enhance technology and marketing skills for people with disabilities and their caregivers to create stable and sustainable careers in the long term.
This activity received academic support from personnel of the Engineering for Social Responsibility Unit, led by Mr. Worawit Israngkul Na Ayutthaya, a lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, and Ms. Sukanya Leejalearn, Head of the Engineering for Social Responsibility Unit, along with her team, who acted as speakers to share knowledge on important topics such as “Work Safety”, “Marketing Ecosystem and Sustainable Marketing”, and “Business Analysis for Families of People with Disabilities”.
The event was honored by General Chirasak Butrniaen, Vice Chairman of the Panyapat Foundation for the Disabled, who presided over the opening ceremony, and Mr. Preeda Limnontakul, Board Member and Secretary of the Panyapat Foundation for the Disabled. He reported on the background to the collaboration, which is considered an important step in creating a prototype for holistic development of the potential of the disabled. This will help the disabled have stable careers and enhance their knowledge about innovation, technology, and marketing so they can better compete in the economic system.
The Achiwapat project is another collaboration between the education sector and the civil sector, driving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with focus on eliminating poverty and reducing inequality among the disabled. The goals reinforce the role of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University: delivering knowledge to change society.
