June 5–6, 2025: the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty, visited the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK, to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
The visit aimed to develop joint (dual-degree) programs at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, and to expand international research networks. The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Henrik Gollee, Head of BME Teaching, Prof. Huabing Yin, Head of BME Research, and Dr. Vanessa Johnson, Global Partnership Engagement Lead.
During the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon presented an overview of the Faculty of Engineering, highlighting its curriculum structure, teaching methodologies and research capabilities in the field of biomedical engineering.
In the afternoon session, the delegation held discussions with Prof. Muhammad Imran, Head of the School of Engineering, Prof. Scott Roy, Head of Learning and Teaching, and Prof. Clare McManus, Dean of Global Engagement. The talks focused on planning future postgraduate collaboration, including student and faculty exchanges, credit transfer systems, as well as the development of joint research funding and scholarship opportunities.
This partnership marks a significant step toward building a strong academic alliance between Mahidol University and one of the world's leading universities. The collaboration seeks to enhance educational quality, promote international research, and empower students and staff with global competitiveness.
