On June 13, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, participated in the "50th Anniversary Celebration of China-Thailand Diplomatic Relations" and the "9th International Exchange Week" at Chengdu University, People's Republic of China. He was accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Wasaporn Techapeeraparnich, Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, and Associate Professor Dr. Trakarn Prapaspongsa from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The event marked a milestone in strengthening academic collaborations between the two nations.
During the visit, Mahidol University’s Faculty of Engineering signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Chengdu University. These agreements are aimed at development of joint Master’s and Doctoral degree programs in Civil and Environmental Engineering. In addition, both institutions discussed the upcoming International Summer School with the theme of AI & Sustainable Engineering when 30 students from Chengdu University will take part in academic activities at Mahidol University in Thailand.
This partnership also opens opportunities for Chengdu University students to pursue studies in Mahidol’s 3+1+2 program structure, supported by faculty members from both universities through co-teaching initiatives. This collaboration represents a significant step forward in Mahidol Engineering’s commitment to achieving world-class standards and expanding its global academic footprint in line with its vision of becoming a World Class University.
