Between 16–20 June 2025, a delegation from the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty, visited the People's Republic of China where they explored the modern technology used in robotics, automation systems, and electric vehicles (EV). The visit was intended to gain improved knowledge and understanding to help development of a modern engineering curriculum and research.
The delegation visited world-class enterprises such as the Dobot headquarters, a global leader in collaborative robots (Cobots) and AI technology that are widely used in education, and in industrial automation. They also toured the DH-Robotics headquarters. This company specializes in electric gripper tools and advanced linear control systems for industrial and research applications.
Other visits included the headquarters of Youibot, a major developer of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) designed for logistics, smart factories, and Industry 4.0 systems; and the headquarters of EV-Heying, a comprehensive center for EV technology and training solutions that support educational institutions and the industrial sector.
The team was also welcomed by an educational institute in Zhuhai, that had been arranged in collaboration with Dobot. Both parties engaged in knowledge exchange on curriculum development, and technological innovations. They also explored possibilities for future academic and research collaborations to keep pace with global digital transformation.
