On July 25, 2025, the Social Responsibility in Engineering Unit of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, officially handed over a new energy-saving innovation - the “Electricity Cost Estimation System” - to Wat Mahasawat Nakaphuttharam and Phra Pariyatham Mahasawat Witthaya School in Nakhon Pathom.
This initiative is part of the Development of an Electricity Cost Estimation System for Temples, Schools, and Communities project The event was attended by monks, teachers, students, community leaders, and the engineering team.
The ceremony began with a welcome from Phra Parinya Panyasiri, Director of the Phra Pariyatham Mahasawat Witthaya School, and Assistant Professor Phra Maha Wijit Kalyanajitto, Abbot of Wat Mahasawat Nakaphuttharam.
The official handover was led by Lecturer Worawit Israngkul Na Ayutthaya, who represented the Faculty of Engineering.
Experts from the Department of Electrical Engineering conducted knowledge-sharing sessions. Lecturer Worawit presented on IoT Technology and the Electricity Cost Estimation System. This was followed by a hands-on workshop delivered by the Social Responsibility in Engineering team to monks, novices, teachers, students, and local residents.
This project reflects the ongoing commitment that Mahidol Engineering has to applying technology for social benefit. The electricity estimation innovation is expected to help temples and schools manage their energy usage more effectively, and help reduce utility expenses. It is also expected to promote long-term understanding and adoption of sustainable technology in local communities.
