On July 31, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, held its annual orientation event for new students of the academic year 2025. Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty, along with executive team members, department heads, lecturers, alumni, and student representatives warmly welcomed the new cohort. The orientation took place at the a Lecture Hall, Office of the President, Mahidol University, featuring a series of activities designed to prepare and inspire students as they embark on their engineering journey.
The program began with essential information about student health and well-being, student rights and benefits, and practical guidance for university life. This was followed by safety awareness training led by Dr. Pattharaphon Chindasiriphan, Assistant Dean for Infrastructure and Environmental Development. In addition, Assistant Professor Dr. Sotarat Thammaboosadee, Assistant Dean for Organizational Digital Transformation, shared knowledge about Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
A highlight of the event was the “Connect the Dots” session, where senior students and alumni shared personal experiences and motivation to help newcomers envision their future paths. Another key moment was the presentation of the “Pee-Soo-Nong Engineering Mahidol” scholarships, given by engineering alumni and presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Pornthip Keangin, Deputy Dean for Innovation Incubation and Alumni Relations
The event concluded with an inspiring talk by Assistant Professor Dr. Wasaporn Techapeeraparnich, Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs. The orientation marked an important first step in each student’s academic journey, fostering a sense of purpose and community as they begin to build their dreams and networks in the engineering world.
