Associate Professor Dr. Surachoke Thanapitak of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, was invited by the Thailand Printed Circuit Association (THPCA) to deliver a special lecture at the BOI Forum during Thailand Electronics Circuit Asia (THECA) 2025. His talk, “From Idea to Silicon: The Journey of IC Design and Fabrication,” provided valuable information on the design and fabrication of integrated circuits (IC), supporting the progress of the electronics industry in Thailand and internationally.
THECA 2025 took place from 20–22 August 2025 at BITEC, Bangkok. The event was co-organized by The Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), Thailand Printed Circuit Association (THPCA), and the Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association (HKPCA). The event was held under the theme “How to Build Effectively a Future Electronic Ecosystem,” with the goal of strengthening Thailand’s position in the advanced electronics industry.
As part of the BOI Forum, leading experts joined a panel discussion, “Building the Future: Investment Policies Shaping Thailand’s Advanced Electronics and Semiconductor Ecosystem.” The session highlighted five key topics: Quantum & Semiconductor; AI with PCB; Digital Twin & Simulation; Sustainability & Supply Chain; and Education & Design. These showcase Thailand’s potential to become a regional hub for the electronics and semiconductor industry.
The participation of Mahidol Engineering through Dr. Surachoke demonstrates the expertise of the Faculty of Engineering in electrical engineering and IC design, and marks an important step in the growth of collaboration between academia and industry. This engagement reinforces Thailand’s ambition to establish itself as a sustainable base for advanced electronics and semiconductor production in Asia.
