On September 6–7, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, participated in the annual seminar for students of the Joint MD–MBA Program and the Master of Engineering Program in Biomedical Engineering (International Program). He was joined by Associate Professor Dr. Benchaporn Lertanantawong, Deputy Dean for Research and Academic Services, Associate Professor Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn, Program Director of the Master of Engineering Program in Biomedical Engineering (International Program), and faculty members from the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
The seminar, hosted by the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital at Kalanan Riverside Resort, Nonthaburi, brought faculty members, students, and key stakeholders together to exchange ideas. The event was officially opened by Clinical Professor Dr. Artit Ungkanont, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital. It featured a keynote session, “Prelude: From Inception to Impact,” which highlighted the origins of the joint program and reviewed its successes and challenges to date.
A highlight of the seminar was the “Ideation Lab: Still–Start–Stop” activity. This provided a platform for faculty members and students to brainstorm and co-design future teaching approaches, co-curricular activities, and integrative learning experiences that address the evolving needs of the biomedical engineering field.
The seminar concluded with a strategic planning session: “Strategic Blueprint: Roadmap for 3–5 Years”. This outlined long-term development goals for the program. It was followed by stakeholder presentations and action plan summaries.
This collaborative initiative reflects the strong partnership between Mahidol University’s Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital and the Faculty of Engineering in driving advances in integrated medical and biomedical engineering education, preparing graduates to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s healthcare and the changing technology landscape.
