On 15 September 2025, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, hosted the Kyoto University-Mahidol University On-site Laboratory Mini-Workshop at Room 101 of the Institute for Population and Social Research, Salaya Campus. At the event researchers from Mahidol University and Kyoto University, Japan, exchanged knowledge and examined future academic and research collaboration possibilities.
The opening session was honored by Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, who delivered welcoming remarks. The event also featured a special lecture by Professor Shinya Echigo from the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies, Kyoto University, titled “Aim of this Mini-Workshop.” His talk inspired participants and offered new perspectives for collaborative research.
The workshop featured presentations and discussions on four key themes: Environmental Engineering; Agriculture & Ecosystem; Public Health; and Chemical Engineering. Participants were encouraged to share insights, exchange ideas, and propose creative approaches for joint research and innovation.
In the afternoon, participants joined parallel sessions at the Innogineer Studio. They engaged in comprehensive discussions on each topic area and laid the groundwork for future cooperation. The workshop encouraged a warm and collaborative atmosphere. This reflected the strong partnership between the two universities, marking another step forward in Mahidol Engineering’s mission to advance research on the global stage.
