On September 19, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, welcomed students from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) as part of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Program, organized by the International Relations Division, Mahidol University. The program provides students with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem of Thailand through a blend of theoretical learning and hands-on experience. A total of 26 international students from SUTD joined the program.
As part of their visit, the students toured research facilities within Mahidol Engineering. At the Railway System Laboratory, Associate Professor Waressara Weerawat, lecturer in the Cluster of Logistics and Rail Engineering (CLARE), shared insights into research and applications in rail systems. She highlighted the connections between technology, engineering, and sustainable urban development.
The group also visited the Digital Forensics Innovation and Training Center, where Associate Professor Suratose Tritilanunt, from the Department of Computer Engineering, introduced students to the field of digital forensics innovation.
The students continued their visit at the Center for Biomedical and Robotics Technology (BART LAB), where a team of experts presented advancements in medical robotics engineering. The students later explored the Flexible Manufacturing System Laboratory (FLEX Lab) where, Dr. Eakkachai Warinsiriruk from the Department of Industrial Engineering, provided knowledge about flexible manufacturing technologies and their industrial applications.
Throughout the program, the students engaged in a wide range of activities, including case studies, company site visits, and interactive exchanges with experts, entrepreneurs, investors, as well as public and private sector organizations in Thailand. The experience offered them a multi-dimensional perspective on innovation and entrepreneurship, inspiring future development of technology and business ventures on a global scale.
