On September 19, 2025, members of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, visited the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) to discuss potential academic collaborations.
The delegation was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Chamras Promptmas, Advisor to the Dean for Organizational Mission Support, with Associate Professor Dr. Benchaporn Lertanantawong, Deputy Dean for Research and Academic Services. Associate Prof. Jackrit Suthakorn, Founder of the Center for Biomedical and Robotics Technology (BART LAB), also attended along with Faculty members and staff from the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
During the visit, both sides exchanged views on teaching and research while exploring key areas of collaboration. The discussions included opportunities for joint research projects, the development of student exchange programs, and the possibility of establishing collaboration at the undergraduate level.
Discussions also focused on strengthening academic networks between the institutions, aiming to create new opportunities for students and researchers. Representatives of the organizations emphasized the importance of developing curricula and teaching approaches that align with the rapid global advancements in biomedical engineering.
This collaboration between Mahidol Engineering, NUS, and NTU marks another significant step in expanding international partnerships. This will enhance research capacity, produce high-quality graduates in biomedical engineering, and contribute to the fields of science, technology, and medicine in Thailand and the ASEAN region.
