On 12 November 2025, the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, organized a training program: “ESPReL Laboratory Safety Training: Advancing Towards International Safety Standards, Academic Year 2025.” The program will enhance knowledge, understanding, and awareness of safe laboratory practices, in line with the national initiative, “Enhancement of Safety Practice of Research Laboratory in Thailand (ESPReL).”
The session was conducted with support from experts at the Center of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Management (COSHEM), together with faculty members and staff from the Department of Chemical Engineering who were speakers. The training provided valuable guidance for faculty members, staff, and students, covering key topics such as chemical handling, chemical waste management, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency response to chemical spills, and hands-on practice using fire extinguishers.
This activity not only reinforces a strong culture of safety within laboratory environments but also plays an important role in elevating the safety standards of the Department toward sustainable, internationally recognized practices.
