From November 9–13, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Pattaraporn Posoknistakul, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, attended the Translational Research SATU Network Meeting 2025 at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) in Mumbai, Republic of India.
The meeting began with an official opening ceremony at the Rahul Bajaj Technology Innovation Centre. Professor Shireesh Kedare, Director of IIT Bombay, delivered a welcoming address. This was followed by remarks from Professor Milind Atrey, Deputy Director of Academics, Research, and Translation, who highlighted IIT Bombay’s innovation, entrepreneurship, incubation, and translation ecosystem. The session underscored the institute’s strong capacity in advancing technology and driving research toward commercialization.
Throughout the event, participants attended presentations from IIT Bombay’s key innovation units, including the Desai Sethi School of Entrepreneurship, the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), TRYST, and ASPIRE. The program also featured an IDEAS Program experience-sharing session. This provided valuable insights into transforming academic research into practical applications. Delegates also visited the IIT Bombay Research Park to learn about collaborative initiatives between academia and industry.
During the discussion and panel sessions, representatives from member universities exchanged views on topics including translational research in India, the entrepreneurship ecosystem in India, and policy and international collaboration. The meeting concluded with the development of a white paper and road map outlining future directions for joint research and innovation initiatives: strengthening global academic and technological collaboration within the SATU Network community.
