On November 19, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University organized the “Mahidol Engineering Zero Waste Challenge 2025: Pitching Day”. This was to provide a platform for students to present innovative ideas and technological solutions for waste reduction. The well-attended event strengthened environmental awareness and promoted creative competition in sustainability. It held at Room R238, 2nd Floor, Building 1, of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University.
The competition was honored by the presence of five distinguished judges, including:
1. Assistant Professor Dr. Korporn Panyim, Deputy Dean for Administration and Finance
2. Dr. Rojjalak Chuckpaiwong, Deputy Dean for Strategic Management and Quality Assurance
3. Mr. Manuschai Pardermchai, Division of Physical systems and Environment Affairs, Mahidol University
4. Dr. Narapong Hongprasith, Hub of Waste Management for Sustaianable Development
5. Mr. Banchakarn Winaipanich, Pollution Control Department
Fourteen teams advanced to the Pitching Round. Each was given five minutes to present a practical solution that targeted environmental challenges and waste management issues. The atmosphere was filled with creativity, excitement, and determination as students showcased their commitment to driving positive environmental change and advancing sustainable practices.
The pitching session was overseen by Associate Professor Dr.Trakarn Prapaspongsa, Chair of the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering (International Program). After evaluation by the judging panel, the competition results were announced as follows:
1. First Prize: EcoMate
2. First Runner-Up: “Ao Paww Kho Hur” Team
3. Popular Vote Award: Trashy Ranger
This event is an important milestone, demonstrating the capability of Mahidol Engineering students to transform innovative Zero Waste ideas into meaningful, practical solutions for future real-world implementation.
