The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, took a group of undergraduate students to the premises of Sansiri Public Company Limited on an industrial site visit to look at modern construction processes for residential and condominium projects. The visit, on November 21, 2025, focused on advanced precast component production supported by Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology and automated robotic control systems: key innovations shaping the construction industry in the digital era.
Industry specialists provided students with in-depth knowledge about operational principles, use of equipment and machinery, and real-world control systems used in the production process. This enabled students to develop a better understanding of modern construction workflows and to gain insight into how digital engineering technologies are applied in real projects.
Students also had the opportunity to tour the construction site, where they received detailed explanations from experts. This hands-on experience allowed them to observe real working conditions, deepening their technical understanding and strengthening the practical engineering skills essential for professional development.
The site visit was led by Associate Professor Dr. Wonsiri Punurai, faculty member of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and the technical team of the Department. The activity is an important initiative that will enhance the knowledge and readiness of the students as they become competent, technology-ready engineers.
