On 9 December 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, at Mahidol University, welcomed representatives of Daikin Industries (Thailand) to discuss a new collaboration initiative. Joining the meeting were Assistant Professor Dr. Pornthip Keangin, Deputy Dean for Innovation Incubation and Alumni Relations; and Dr. Pattharaphon Chindasiriphan, Assistant Dean for Infrastructure and Environmental Development.
The Daikin delegation included Mr. Itthi Phuwarawong, Project Manager; Mr. Prayut Thaloengnawachart, Assistant General Manager; Mr. Thitiwat Maneekruea, Lead Project Engineer; and Ms. Chanya Charoenthaveekoon, Project Engineer who is an alumna of Mahidol Engineering. Both sides exchanged technical insights and ideas aimed at advancing indoor climate solutions.
The collaboration focuses on developing smart air-conditioning and ventilation systems that prioritize energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and environmental sustainability. The initiative supports the mission of the Faculty: to upgrade academic buildings and learning spaces to meet modern international standards.
In addition, the meeting explored strategies to improve classrooms and infrastructure across the Faculty. These improvements are intended to enhance the learning experience for students by providing safe, energy-saving, and innovation-friendly environments that support future academic and research excellence.
