On 30 January 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, welcomed a delegation from the Thailand Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and Tokyo Institute of Technology (TAIST-Science Tokyo) to the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University. The visit aimed to enhance academic ties and explore future collaboration in education and research between the institutions.

The Dean delivered an official welcoming address. Associate Professor Dr. Warakorn Charoensuk, Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and Associate Professor Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn, Program Chair of TAIST-Science Tokyo in Biomedical Engineering and Artificial Intelligence also made speeches welcoming the visitors. The meeting which was held in Room R114, Building 1 of the Faculty of Engineering provided an overview of the Faculty, its academic strengths, and potential directions for joint academic and research initiatives

Following the discussion, the delegation was invited to visit research laboratories specializing in biomedical engineering, robotics technology, and artificial intelligence. Faculty researchers presented ongoing projects and innovative developments, demonstrating the strong capabilities in advanced engineering and technology of Mahidol University.

This visit marked an important opportunity for knowledge exchange and the strengthening of cooperation in teaching, research, and innovation development. It reaffirmed the commitment of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, and the TAIST-Science Tokyo network to foster long-term collaboration that will contribute to the advancement of high- impact engineering education and research on the global stage.
