On 6 February 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with EGIS Transportation (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The agreement was co-signed by Mr. Itt Apichartbutr, Deputy Managing Director of EGIS Transportation (Thailand). The MoU is to enhance cooperation in research, technology development, and academic knowledge exchange.

The partnership will place particular emphasis on Smart Mobility, intelligent transportation systems, and sustainable infrastructure development. It will also support academic activities, personnel development, and the creation of hands-on learning opportunities for students, which will enable them to gain practical experience aligned with industry needs.

Following the signing ceremony, executives and representatives from both organizations visited the Smart Mobility LAB. The visit provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss potential directions for future joint projects and research initiatives.

This collaboration marks an important step in bridging academic expertise with industrial experience. It is expected to generate research and innovation that responds to national development goals and contributes to sustainable growth in Thailand’s transportation sector.
