On March 25, 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Mahidol University, visited Tottori University, Japan, to discuss academic and research collaboration. The Dean was accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Pattaraporn Posoknistakul, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication; Associate Professor Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn, Founder of the Center for Biomedical and Robotics Technology (BART LAB); and Dr. Nantida Nillahoot, Innovation Director of the BART LAB.
During the visit, the delegation was welcomed by Dr. Seiji Okamura, President of the Tottori Industrial Promotion Organization (TIPO), along with his team. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Katsuya Anyoji, Coordinator from the Social Business Innovation Research Laboratory, who joined the discussions and contributed valuable insights.
The meeting focused on ways to strengthen collaboration in research, industrial technology, and social innovation, as well as promoting student and staff mobility programs. Both sides also explored opportunities to connect with international industry partners, particularly regarding ways that research outcomes could be translated into value-added medical products and how to advance medical technology development.
The delegates from the institutions also exchanged ideas on building strategic partnerships to enhance academic and research capabilities at the global level. This visit marks another important milestone in reinforcing the strong relationship between the Faculty of Engineering at Mahidol University and Tottori Industrial Promotion Organization, paving the way for concrete and sustainable collaboration in the future.
