From 27–28 April 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University visited three leading universities in the United Kingdom, with Associate Professor Dr. Benchaporn Lertanantawong, Deputy Dean for Research and Academic Services. These were the University of Greenwich; Kingston University; and the University of Warwick. The visits were to look at the best practices in educational management, student development, and international collaboration, while strengthening academic partnerships and advancing the global engagement of Mahidol University.
At the University of Greenwich, the delegation attended presentations on the overall strategy of the university, including its Student Success Strategy, public engagement initiatives, and approaches to international collaboration. Senior executives welcomed the delegation from Mahidol Engineering, sharing insights and experiences. The visit also included a tour of the campus and learning facilities, providing a closer look at the university’s student-centered environment.
The delegation later visited the University of Warwick, one of the UK’s leading institutions. They its educational strategies, international student support systems, and engagement initiatives were outlined. They also met with Professor Michael Scott, Professor of Classics and Ancient History and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International). Discussions highlighted the role of the Warwick Institute of Engagement in connecting the university with society and regional partners through academic and community activities. Opportunities for future collaboration in research, student exchange, and joint program development were also explored.
This study visit marks another important milestone for the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, in expanding its global academic network. The knowledge gained from these leading UK institutions will be applied to improve education management, research, and academic services, ultimately improving the standards of the Faculty and creating new international opportunities for students and staff.
