On 22 May 2026, Assistant Professor Konlakorn Wongpatikaseree, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, visited The University of Western Australia (UWA), Australia. He was accompanied by Professor Paisarn Muneesawang of the Department of Computer Engineering, and other members of the department. The visit was to discuss opportunities for strengthening academic and research collaboration in engineering, as well as to exchange knowledge and experience in teaching and learning, student development. They also examined international partnership building between the two institutions.
During the visit, the Mahidol Engineering delegation met with executives and faculty members from the School of Engineering at The University of Western Australia, one of Australia’s leading engineering institutions. Both parties exchanged information on engineering curricula, industry-oriented research development, and approaches to enhancing student skills and preparing them for the global workforce.
The discussions also explored future collaborative opportunities, including student and staff exchange programs, joint research activities, short-course development, and the establishment of networks in innovation and emerging technologies. These initiatives are expected to further support education and research that align with the needs of industry and the global community.
The visit to The University of Western Australia marks another important milestone for the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, in expanding partnerships with leading international universities. It also reflects the commitment of the Faculty to advancing education, research, and engineering innovation while creating valuable opportunities and experiences for students and staff.
