On 29 May 2026, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, further strengthened its global academic engagement through its participation in the “Global Knowledge Exchange Series for Faculty Excellence” event. This was hosted by the Hindustan Group of Institutions in Chennai, India. Professor Paisarn Muneesawang of the Department of Computer Engineering represented the Faculty at the event, which focused on the theme “Entrepreneurship, Medical Technology and Interdisciplinary Research.”
The programme brought together academics, researchers, and educational leaders from a range of disciplines, including management, engineering, health sciences, and executive education. Participants exchanged their perspectives on emerging trends in higher education and explored strategies to prepare institutions for rapid technological change in the digital era.
Professor Paisarn Muneesawang served as a keynote contributor and workshop facilitator alongside Professor Kevin Fynn, Emeritus Professor from Curtin University, Australia. Their sessions highlighted entrepreneurship in higher education, research commercialization, digital technologies in healthcare, and sustainable partnerships between academia and industry. Drawing upon their extensive experience in academic leadership and innovation development across the Asia-Pacific region, both speakers shared practical approaches for translating research into meaningful economic and social impact.
The forum also provided a platform for discussions on entrepreneurial education, medical technology innovation, interdisciplinary research, and international collaboration. Participants examined the evolving role of engineering education in preparing graduates for an AI-driven workforce while strengthening essential skills such as communication, teamwork, adaptability, and critical thinking. As a result of these exchanges, executives from Hindustan Group of Institutions are scheduled to visit Mahidol University in the near future. They will examine expanded collaboration in joint research, faculty and student mobility, curriculum development, medical technology, engineering education, and interdisciplinary innovation initiatives.
The Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, welcomes this growing partnership and looks forward to building a strong foundation for academic excellence, research advancement, and sustainable international engagement that will benefit both institutions in the years ahead.
