On 8 June 2026, the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, officially launched its Annual International Training Courses (AITC) 2026 event with the theme, “AI for Science & Digital Innovation: Empowering International Economic and Social Transformation.” The opening ceremony was held at Innogineer Studio, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University. It brought together experts, academics, and participants from several countries to exchange knowledge and experience in artificial intelligence and digital innovation. These are key drivers of economic and social development at national and global levels.

Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, delivered a welcoming address. He expressed his pleasure in hosting participants from around the world. In his comments, he emphasized the importance of the program as a platform for academic and professional exchange, to encourage international friendships, and strengthen collaboration that will contribute to global development.

The program objectives were presented by Associate Professor Dr. Chularat Sakdaronnarong, Chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University. She highlighted the significance of capacity-building through emerging technologies, the promotion of international collaboration, as well as the use of artificial intelligence to support sustainable economic and social development.

Following the opening ceremony, participants attended the keynote session: “Foundations of AI and Digital Innovation in International Economic and Social Transformation.” This was delivered by Dr. Sak Sekkhunthod, Senior Advisor at the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA). Drawing on his extensive experience, Dr. Sak Sekkhunthod shared valuable insights into the transformative role of artificial intelligence and digital innovation in shaping economic and social progress at national and global levels, to inspire participants and broaden their perspectives on the future of digital transformation.
