On 6 July 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, welcomed Professor Ji-Beom Yoo, President of Sungkyunkwan University, Republic of Korea. The Dean was accompanied by Associate Professor Dr. Benchaporn Lertanantawong, Deputy Dean for Research and Academic Services, and Assistant Professor Dr. Pattaraporn Posoknistakul, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication. The visit focused on discussions regarding potential academic and research collaborations in nanotechnology, with the purpose of strengthening international partnerships and enhancing the research capabilities of both institutions.
The meeting was held in the VIP Reception Room on the 5th Floor of the Office of the President building, Mahidol University. The delegation was also welcomed by Professor Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., President of Mahidol University, and hi Professor Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Drathiti, Vice President for Global Partnerships and the University Council, who participated in the discussions.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged ideas and explored opportunities for collaboration in the field of nanotechnology: particularly regarding advanced nanomaterials research. The discussions aligned with Professor Ji-Beom Yoo’s internationally recognized expertise in graphene-based nanomaterials for applications in electronics, semiconductors, and thermal management systems. Collaboration between the institutions is expected to pave the way for joint research initiatives, researcher exchange, and future academic partnerships.
The Sungkyunkwan University delegation also toured Mahidol University to learn more about its educational excellence, research strengths, and state-of-the-art facilities. This visit marks another significant milestone in strengthening the relationship between Mahidol University and Sungkyunkwan University, while opening new opportunities for sustainable international collaboration in research, innovation, and technological advancement.
