From 3 to 6 September 2017, Asst. Prof. Dr. Trakarn Prapaspongsa - head of Mahidol EcoLab (Eco-Efficient Engineering Research Lab), Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University – delivered two presentations at the 8 th International Conference on Life Cycle Management 2017 (LCM 2017) at the European Convention Center in Luxembourg. The first presentation is entitled “Lessons Learned from International Best Practices in Sustainable Maritime Transport: Potential Technology and System Adaptation for Life Cycle Management of Maritime Transport in Emerging Economies” which is a part of the project “REliability and Safety Engineering and Technology for large maritime engineering systems” funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant. The second presentation is entitled “Right Product or Technology for Sustainable Agri-Food Value Chains? Lessons Learned from Rice, Sugarcane and Oil Palm Cultivation in Thailand” which is a part of the project “Research Network for LCA and Policy on Food, Fuel and Climate Change” funded by National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA).
During the LCM 2017 conference participation, Dr. Trakarn also promoted LCAFOOD2018 (The 11 th International Conference on Life Cycle Assessment of FOOD) in conjunction with the 6th LCA AgriFood ASIA 2018 and ICGSI 2018 (the 7 th International Conference on Green and Sustainable Innovation) which will be organized from 17 to 19 October 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand by Kasetsart University and the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. Mahidol University will be one of local partners organizing these upcoming international conferences.
