Transforming the Thai Construction Industry into the Digital Era

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University welcomed Glodon Thailand, a global leader in digital platforms and international construction cost management technology.

On this occasion, Mr. Frank Xu (Market Director for India, Philippines & Thailand Market, International Market Development Department), together with Mr. Chonlasit Moowiset (Account Manager), met with faculty members of the department to discuss, exchange ideas, and build collaboration in education and academic development, aimed at empowering students for the digital construction industry.

This collaboration focuses on applying digital technologies to Quantity Takeoff and Cost Management to enhance the skills of civil engineering students. It aims to prepare Thai engineers to work effectively in the era of Digital Construction, aligning with international standards.

This marks a significant milestone in academic-industry collaboration, driving the development of high-quality professionals and shaping the future of the Thai construction industry.

Service rates for the Materials Analysis Center Project and academic services in civil and environmental engineering

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invited Mr. Pakpoom Vanichkamonnan. Managing Director of SNP Postion Company Limited came as a special guest speaker. Come lecture on the topic “Posttension floor design”

On August 30, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Lecture Room 6374, Faculty of Engineering Building 3, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invited Mr. Pakpoom Vanichkamonlann, Managing Director of SNP Posttension Co., Ltd., as a special guest lecturer. He delivered a talk on the topic “Posttension Slab Design.”

The department’s head, Associate Professor Dr. Theeraphan Onthammarat, along with Associate Professor Dr. Wannasiri Phanurai and other faculty members from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, warmly welcomed the guest.

All the students gained a wealth of knowledge and valuable experience from the lecture, which greatly benefited their studies. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, would like to extend their sincere thanks to Mr. Pakpoom Vanichkamonlann for taking the time to share his expertise with the civil engineering students.

Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, held an orientation for first-year students of the 2024 academic year, along with a session to meet with academic advisors.

On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the The event took place at Assistant Professor Dr. Thanakorn Ouanon Meeting Room (Room 6450), 4th Floor, Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University.

The orientation provided students with information about the program, the academic path over the four years of study, and guidance on academic matters. The meeting with academic advisors offered an opportunity for students and faculty members to discuss university life and academic planning.

Additionally, there was an activity where the freshmen met with their department seniors and mentors, fostering familiarity and a sense of community. This helped to build strong relationships between the senior and junior students within the department.

On 3 Aug 2024, Faculty of Graduate Studies organized orientation for Thai Graduate students. During the event FGS introduced “Mahidol University Graduated Students Union (Green Generation 2023-24)”, appreciated their hard work awarded them with the Certificate of Appreciation for their active and significant participation in Graduate students activities of the academic year 2023-24. Our Master Degree Student Mr. Murad Ali Khan, from the department of civil and environmental engineering, who has been the part of that student received “Certificate of Appreciation” for the academic year 2023. Currently he is working with “Unique Generation 2024” and motivate the students to join the Mahidol University graduate students union to boost up your communication, presentation and leadership qualities.
