Congratulations to the third-year students from the Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science, Mahidol University, for participating in the Building Information Modeling (BIM) competition organized by the Engineering Institute of Thailand in collaboration with Sripatum University. The competition took place on Tuesday, October 31, 2566, at the Sripatum University’s 40th Anniversary Building and on Wednesday, November 1, 2566, at the National Engineering 2566 event at the Sirikit National Convention Center.

Simultaneously, their prowess in environmental engineering has earned them the esteemed sixth spot in Thailand. This incredible achievement stands as a testament to the collective efforts of the dedicated faculty, students, and support staff whose unwavering commitment propelled the department to the pinnacle of EduRank’s prestigious list in 2023.

Assistant Professor Dr. Pongpipat Anantanasakul, a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering at Mahidol University, participated as a session chairman at the 21st Southeast Asian Geotechnical Conference and 4th AGSSEA Conference (SEAGC-AGSSEA 2023) held at the Bangkok Convention Centre, Central World.

Associate Professor Dr. Teraphan Ornthanmarath, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental and Assistant Professor Dr. Panon Latcharote, Deputy Director of the Institute of Management of Technology and Innovation (iNT), Mahidol University, will be keynote speakers at The 1st Thailand Symposium on Earthquake Research. The symposium is organized by the National Research Centre for Earthquake Engineering, National Research Council (NRCT), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, in collaboration with Mahidol University. The event will take place at the Meeting Room, Sathorn Building, Mitrtown

The Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science, Mahidol University, congratulates the students of the department who have completed their studies in the academic year 2565.

The Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science, Mahidol University, congratulates the students of the department who have completed their studies in the academic year 2565 and will participate in the graduation ceremony at Mahidol Sithammarat on October 9th and 10th, 2566.

This year, there are a total of 49 graduating students, with 2 students receiving First Class Honors: Chaiapat and Thananat, and 8 students receiving Second Class Honors: Jirapat, Tiparat, Thanyanat, Naradon, Pakornkan, Pimchanok, Sahatsawat, and Sintorn.

The department extends congratulations to all graduates and wishes them success in their future endeavors, further studies, and professional pursuits.

A professor from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Mahidol University participated as a speaker in the workshop titled “Strategies for Plastic Waste Data Collection and Management: Foundations for National and City Action Plans.”

Professor Chettiyappan Visvanathan (Visu) was invited to deliver a lecture and presentation on “Plastic Waste Data Collection: Current Practices, Key Challenges, and Strategies.” He also participated in the second session’s panel discussion titled “Formal and Informal Waste Management: Working on the Ground and Overcoming Challenges” at the workshop titled “Strategies for Plastic Waste Data Collection and Management: Foundations for National and City Action Plans.” This workshop was organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in collaboration with the Coordinating Body on the Seas of East Asia (COBSEA) at the Holiday Inn on Sukhumvit Road.

Professor Chettiyappan also presented a research project affiliated with Mahidol University concerning plastic waste management in Thailand. Additionally, he highlighted ongoing research activities in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

This workshop was specifically tailored for government agencies in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, as part of the ADB’s Technical Assistance program aimed at promoting actions against plastic pollution entering the seas. The event attracted more than 50 attendees.

Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Mahidol University extends heartfelt congratulations to the fourth-year students of the department who have been invited to participate in the Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools (IDEERS 2023) competition organized by the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE) in Taipei City, Taiwan. The competition will take place between September 20th and 23rd, 2023. The team of fourth-year students includes:
